Prenatal exposure to low doses of fungicides corrupts neurogenesis in neonates

چکیده
Neurogenesis plays a crucial role during neurodevelopment and its dysfunction can lead to neurodevelopmental disorders. A recent hypothesis stipulates that exogenous factors could corrupt this process predispose neurodegenerative disorders later in life. The presence of pesticide residues the diet represents threat which we have recently become aware of. Indeed, they neurogenesis, especially gestation, potentially leading impaired neuronal synaptic functions. Since effects low-noise contamination not yet been evaluated on neurodevelopment, investigated impact fungicide WT mice exposed throughout gestation. Thus, were fungicides, cyprodinil, mepanipyrim pyrimethanil, alone at 0.1 ?g/L gestation until P3. Besides, another group was cocktail these three fungicides (0.1 each) for same time. Exposure performed through drinking water regulatory limit dose European countries ?g/L). No general toxicity observed neonates body brain weight upon exposure. However, results showed gestational exposure substantially promoted an increase neural precursor cells This corrupted neurogenesis linked increased levels ?-catenin, likely crosstalk PI3K/Akt Wnt/?-catenin pathways, both involved cell proliferation. Fungicide also altered protein expression PSD95 NMDA receptors P3 neonates, two targets ?-catenin signaling pathway. Adult stem extractions from treated with cocktail, proliferation differentiation combined reduction their migration properties. In addition, vitro studies hippocampal primary cultures various concentrations neurotoxic effects. To conclude, corruption by chemical assault be fertile ground development neurological diseases

Comparison of High and Low Doses of Captopril in the Treatment of Neonates with Left-to-Right Shunt
Introduction: Due to the significant differences between the physiology and pathology of adults and neonates, clinical guidelines for adults are not directly applicable to children. This study was performed to evaluate the effects of high- and low- dose captopril on the neonates with large left-to-right shunts. Methods: The study was conducted on 20 neonates with congenital heart disease, left-...
متن کاملSelenium Protects Neonates against Neurotoxicity from Prenatal Exposure to Manganese
Manganese (Mn) exposure can affect brain development. Whether Selenium (Se) can protect neonates against neurotoxicity from Mn exposure remains unclear. We investigated this issue in 933 mother-newborn pairs in Shanghai, China, from 2008 through 2009. Umbilical cord serum concentrations of Mn and Se were measured and Neonatal Behavioral Neurological Assessment (NBNA) tests were conducted. The s...
متن کاملP-105: Prenatal Effects Exposure to Extremely Low Frequency- Electromagnetic Field (ELF-EMF) on Pathology of Testis in Newborn Rats
Background: Human beings are unavoidably exposed to ambient electromagnetic fields (EMF) generated from various electrical devices and from power transmission lines. The effects of extremely low-frequency electromagnetic fields (ELF-EMF) on the biological functions of living organisms represent an emerging area of interest for human health. One of the critical issues is that EMF may adversely a...
متن کاملFunctional Connectivity Disruption in Neonates with Prenatal Marijuana Exposure
Prenatal marijuana exposure (PME) is linked to neurobehavioral and cognitive impairments; however, findings in childhood and adolescence are inconsistent. Type-1 cannabinoid receptors (CB1R) modulate fetal neurodevelopment, mediating PME effects on growth of functional circuitry sub-serving behaviors critical for academic and social success. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effe...
متن کاملPersistence in alterations in the ontogeny of cerebral and hepatic cytochrome P450s following prenatal exposure to low doses of lindane.
Oral administration of low doses (0.0625, 0.125, or 0.25 mg/kg body weight, po, corresponding to 1/1400th, 1/700th, or 1/350th of LD(50), respectively) of lindane, an organochlorine insecticide, to pregnant dams from gestation day 5-21 was found to produce dose-dependent alterations in the ontogenic profile of xenobiotic-metabolizing cytochrome P450s (CYPs) in the brain and liver of offspring. ...
